Connecting Faith, Culture, and Community

The Portuguese Advisory oversees a growing network of Portuguese-speaking congregations throughout North America. Under the coordination of Pastor David Pires, our ministry supports believers from Brazil, Portugal, Angola, Mozambique, and other Lusophone countries who have settled in the United States and Canada.
Evangelistic Growth and Community Building

We focus on establishing new Portuguese-speaking congregations in areas with growing Brazilian and Lusophone immigrant populations. Our approach includes targeted evangelistic campaigns that resulted in 285 baptisms during the previous reporting period, demonstrating our commitment to spiritual outreach and community expansion.

Cultural Preservation and Integration

We create programs that celebrate Portuguese cultural heritage while integrating Adventist values and beliefs. Our initiatives help second-generation Portuguese Americans and Canadians maintain their cultural identity, offering language classes, cultural events, and support networks that bridge generational and cultural gaps.

Practical Support and Empowerment

We provide comprehensive support for new immigrants, including immigration assistance, language acquisition programs, and professional development workshops. Our ministry generates significant financial support, with $12,408,586 in tithes, reflecting the strong commitment of Portuguese-speaking Adventist communities.

Our Sacred Purpose

The Portuguese Advisory exists to create vibrant faith communities that honor Portuguese cultural heritage while advancing the Adventist mission. We aim to support spiritual growth, provide practical assistance, and develop strong leaders within the Portuguese-speaking Adventist community throughout North America.
